From Candy Canes to Hot Cocoa: Seasonal Shakes We Can’t Wait To Try!

Blog | November 26th, 2024

With the holidays come lots of seasonal treats, and one of our favorites are the special flavors of milkshakes making their yearly appearance. Some are well-known favorites that everyone waits for while others are new to the shake scene and ready to mix things up (get it?).

Here are 10 seasonal shakes plus a few other festive drinks we can’t wait to try. Are your favorites on the list?

Chick-fil-A: Peppermint Chip Milkshake, Frosted Coffee, & Peppermint Iced Coffee

A limited-time treat, the Peppermint Chip Milkshake is made with Chick-fil-A’s Icedream dessert (a frozen dairy product similar to soft-serve) and chips of peppermint bark topped with whipped cream and a cherry. If you need a pick-me-up with your dessert, there’s the Peppermint Frosted Coffee which combines their cold-brewed coffee, peppermint syrup, Icedream dessert, and peppermint bark chips. They also have Peppermint Iced Coffee to round out their Peppermint trio.

Two season favorites are back at DQ so get ‘em while they’re cold! The Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard combines DQ soft serve with peppermint candy cane pieces, chocolate chunks, and cocoa fudge, and finishes it off with whipped topping and more candy cane pieces. The Frozen Hot Chocolate combines DQ soft serve with cocoa fudge and their signature Misty Slush. Whipped topping and a chocolate drizzle top this one off.

Five Guys isn’t known for updating their menu but in the spirit of the season, they’ve gifted us a mix-in addition of Candy Cane Crunch. You can add it on its own or combine with another mix-in – maybe Oreos and/or Oreo creme?

The new Noggy or Nice Biscoff Shake at Jack in the Box takes a JITB vanilla shake and mixes it with eggnog flavors and Biscoff Cookie crumbs, finished off by whip cream and more cookie crumbs. Might be the perfect thing to leave out for Santa if you forget the cookies…

This is a new one at Red Robin! The Oreo Candy Cane Milkshake is made with vanilla soft-serve blended with milk, peppermint flavoring, crushed peppermint, and Oreo crumbs, and topped with Oreo crumbs and crushed peppermint. For the grownups, you can add a shot of Bailey’s Chocolate Liqueur to make it boozy without changing the flavor too much.

The Christmas Cookie Shake is a fan-favorite Shake Shake brought back this year. It starts with sugar cookie frozen custard then tops it with chipped cream and holiday sprinkles for a festive treat that tastes like a wintery baked good. Joining the seasonal lineup this year are the Yule Log Shake, which combines chocolate frozen custard with chocolate cake and tops it with whipped cream, cake crumbles, and holiday sprinkles; and the Apple Cider Donut Shake, which is apple cider donut custard topped with whipped cream and cinnamon donut crunch.
